Support in everyday life

What support can look like.

The right approach depends on the person. These are examples we can discuss together.

01

At home

Help with everyday activities can be planned around familiar routines and the way you prefer things to be done. We start by understanding where a helping hand would make a difference.

02

Out in the community

Support could involve an appointment, an activity you enjoy or opportunities to connect with others. Your interests and comfort guide the conversation.

03

Between therapy appointments

Where appropriate, support workers can help you practise strategies recommended by your therapists within everyday activities. This complements your therapy team’s work.

Working together

Support that fits your routines.

01

Understand your needs

We talk about goals, preferences, your usual routine and the support you already have.

02

Discuss the arrangements

Together we consider availability, the tasks involved, funding and what a suitable worker match could look like.

03

Keep communicating

You can tell us what is working and what needs adjusting as your circumstances or priorities change.

Contact our team
Is support available for adults as well as children?

Yes. Support work is for participants of all ages. We discuss each person’s individual needs and the support our team can provide.

Can family members be involved?

Yes. With the participant’s consent, family members and representatives can be part of planning and communication.

Do I need to know exactly how many hours I need?

No. Tell us the routines or activities you need help with, and we can discuss possible arrangements and availability.

Let’s talk about what you need.

Start with the basics. We can work through the next step together.
